PLAN 3: FLY TO BOSTON

Most major domestic and international airlines offer flights to Boston's Logan International Airport.

You take a connecting flight to Bar Harbor (Fly to Bar Harbor), or you can travel from Boston to Bangor by intercity bus (Bus from Boston). For travel from Bangor to Bar Harbor, you will then need either Downeast Transportation (Mondays and Fridays only) or the Bar Harbor-Bangor Shuttle.

If your flight arrives too late in the day for a same-day bus to Bangor, you can travel from Logan International Airport to Portland via Concord Coach or Greyhound . Then stay overnight in Portland and continue to Bar Harbor the next day. (Stopover in Portland) Overnight accommodations in Portland are considerably less expensive than Boston.
